Long ago there was a nice family of 11. They owned a large manor built just for them. Everyone in the town of Balin admired the family for their great intelligence and wealth. The Trace family had 9 children, 6 girl and 3 boys. The family was very content with their manor until something tragic happened. While Liam, the father of the family, was away for business one of the many maids was planning something horrible. She had enough of being bossed around. Her plan was evil and it will be the tragedy for the family .
Late one night, while the family was asleep, the maid snuck into the dark garage. Where there only car sat. Most people at this time didn't have a car, but the maid knew of something that would kill anyone in the house. She slid the keys into the slot and the car started. She left the engine running and made her way out of the house.
The gasses from the car leaked slowly into the sleeping household and intoxicated the air. The family, except for Liam was killed by the poison gasses, even the cat and dog. The maid returned the next day with a smile on her face. The car had ran out of gas to power it and it was empty and the family was dead. She opened the windows in the house to let the gas out and got to work.
An hour later Liam came home and began to look for his wife, but instead of being greeted at the door, he found her lying arcos their bed, Dead. He rushed around the house and found all the children dead. The cat was curled up in his youngest daughter's lap. The young girl was only four. The dog laid at the feet of the oldest boy's feet, dead. He was all alone.
Years later the manor was sold to a new family because Liam could not afford it on his own. Liam moved into a small cabin on the land though. Madison Lee's family purchased the famous house and moved in. There was something creepy about this house though. One night Madison was in the forest, exploring the new home. All she had was a flash light in hand and a light jacket on her back that one fall night. A light humming came from the trees beside her. She gasped and ran the flashlight through the trees. Then a light, childish voice rang out. Choose they croon the Ancient Ones, the time has come again, choose now, they croon, beneath the moon, beside an ancient lake the voice sang. Madison looked around frantically but could not find the sore of the singing. Too frightened to go on, she turned back. A gasp escaped her mouth and she dropped the flash light. The light flickered off on the hard soil.
She ran home as fast as possible, no flashlight. A shiver she ran down her spine and then the voice started again, father away. She ran into the house and slammed the door. She told her family over and over about it but no one would believe her. She spoke only of the truth. She had seen a young girl, hair to her shoulders, that wore a bow on top of her head. The little girl shimmered in the moon light and then walked through a tree. Madison though she was just going crazy after that she then went to bed. She was not alone that night. She could here light strumming on a guitar, though no one in the family played. It soothed her, but then a voice of a young man was singing. She couldn't sleep that night.
After that night the figures came more and more often. Sometimes the same one. The one night, she went out into the forest to find that one little girl. She didn't bring a flashlight and just sat in the dark. Soon the little girl came and sat across from her. Then something surprising happened, the little girl spoke directly to her. 'I am Cornelia, why are you afraid?' the little girl asked, her head tilted to the side.
That became the beginning of a friendship between the ghosts and the family. Liam had known about them for a long time and is often the one that tells many stories that have happened to people who don't believe in Ghosts. One story he told Madison was that one night, someone was having a banquet in the formal dining room. Gilbert, the Trace's oldest, son was out with his dog and they didn't realize this. Of course the people there were non-believers. The dog ran into the dining room and jumped onto one of the guest. Licking the guest's face all over. The guest ran out of the house in terror. That was the last dinner party they had.
Only people who had serious risk issues ever came to this house. Most of them were believers and they wanted to see the Traces for themselves. Most found that all the legends about ghosts told by Liam were true. The Traces considered themselves active ghosts, but they couldn't really tell the difference from themselves and humans. Considering they were just spirits stuck on earth, no way of leaving. Will you be part of the legend? Or maybe a ghost who haunts the many lands of Balin. How about a believer of ghosts?
