`` Grabbing a hold of the reins, Andrea lead Our Last Dance, otherwise known as Aiden, to the Western Riding Ring. In the ring, there were several other people there, but she didn't mind. Her stallion was a good stallion, and would usually listen to her commads. Though, it's not often when he rebels to her commands. She opened the gate to the riding ring, soon leading him in and turning him around. Once turned, she closed the gate and then walked him out to the center of the ring. She stopped him and tightened the girth once more. Usually, Aiden does a trick; he would hold his breath so that the girth wasn't as tight as it could be. She tightened it and then put the stirrup back down. She squared him back up by grabbing a hold of the saddle horn and saddle, pushing him from back and forth. Once Aiden was squared, she put her left foot into the left stirrup and pulled herself up onto the saddle.
`` Her bottom met the saddle with a light thud. She grabbed the reins, making sure they were even. She messaged the bit in his mouth a bit, asking him to lower and tuck his head. She was going to start off almost doing western pleasure, but not quite. She had to get him warmed up, getting his shoulders moving and getting him ready to work. Once he was in the position she wanted him, she tapped his sides gently with the spurs and clicked her tongue, asking him to move forward at a walk. He was a bit frisky today, since he hadn't been worked in a very long time. He moved forward at a fast pace, and Andrea asked him to slow down. Once asked, he obeyed and slowed down his pace quickly to a slow walk.
`` On the outside of the ring, she continued to ask him at a good, controled pace, a walk. He did so, his audits flickering every once in a while, watching the other Equines in the ring. She caught his attention back by moving around a bit in the seat, getting him slightly confused. Tapping his sides twice and giving him some rein, Aiden quickly moved into a trot. His trot was slightly different. He usually picked his head up and kicked his legs up higher, she wasn't sure why he did this. She just guessed it was his way of moving. But today, he seemed to be more "normal" than other days. She smiled, rewarding him by giving him some more rein. She asked him to go in figure eights. Once they reached the center, they would transition into a right lead canter. Then when they got back into the center, she'd ask him to quickly move back into a trot. When that excersise was over, she asked him to walk. She gave him a lot of rein, letting his head dangle close to the ground.
`` It was a good five minutes before Andrea picked up the reins again. When the reins were picked up, she asked him to pick up a trot. He picked up into a smooth trot, showing off to some of the mares in the ring. She ignored his prance, and asked him to trot, not prance. He did what he was told, surprisingly. After doing some more excersises and getting his shoulders rolling smoothly, she asked him to stop. She backed him up toward one end up the arena. His audits pricked, noticing the barrels in the middle of the ring. He began to get excited, moving around in circles, going back and forth. With one slight movement of the foot, he'd want to blast forward, which Andrea didn't let him do. She was collecting him, getting him ready to run full speed around those barrels.
`` She held him back with the reins, but rubbed her left foot into his side, getting him ready to gallop. As soon as she released the grip of the reins, Aiden flew forward. His gallop was short steps, but quick ones. They were so quick, it felt like flying. With the blink of an eye, Andrea saw the first barrel. She held onto the saddle horn, turned toward her left, and pulled the reins over when they were close. Aiden slowed down a bit, turning the corner sharply, and picking his speed back up when he was all the way around it. Barrel number two, they got off balance. Andrea prepared herself, already asking him to turn and stuff. But his turn this time was too sharp. Aiden was always better at turning quickly toward his left, his right side was more weak. Anyway, they hit the barrel and it tipped over. She didn't care though, this was practice. And practice made perfect, right? She kicked at his sides a bit, going to the last barrel. He made the turn perfectly, close enough but not close enough to hit or tap the barrel. Then, she kicked at his sides, giving him all the rein he needed. She made a kissing noise with her mouth, a que for Aiden to canter or gallop or go faster. He picked up a bit more speed, but it wasn't long before she pulled back on the reins and sat deep in the saddle. They were going to run into the gate. Luckily, Aiden slowed a bit, but turned and slowly cantered down along the railing, which turned to a trot and then a walk. It was a bit longer until they were at a dead stop. Andrea rewarded him by letting him walk around with a bit more mouth.

THERE was a change in the atmosphere, he could feel it. But he wasn’t the only one. Tapping at the stall a perfect ebonite cranium slipped out. Her ears clipped forth sniffing him with large nostrils. She had a charismatic outlook; most would probably take her for a Quarter which was far from the truth. She had a slimmer body, firmer footing and more graceful looks. She was a cross, but she was his cross and his beauty. Eyes made a turn to the right and he could hear more people settling in the arena. There went that thought. Well, might as well loosen up. His clothes were a lot, well cleaner then his first time setting his foot in Southern. He wore a pair of jeans, his usual boots. A brown shirt and his hat, though the hat had been cleaned so he didn’t look like a bum like last time. The thought made a deep laugh be escaped. A snort here and there told him this was no time to joke around. I’m ou’ of here, satisfied? There was another snort and he shook his head. The thirty-six year old male stepped into the tack room where he grabbed the light western saddle and bridle as well as band aids which he used for training.
CAPRICORNIA neighed and kicked the stall seeing the tack. Drover only used a second to hush the lively five year old down. He had taken with him a brush and opened the stall door. Closing it behind him the male started brushing the sixteen point three hands tall mare. He made the strokes calm and thought about everything he did. Over her spine, under her belly, over her belly, softer brush to use on her face, comb her mane, forelocks and tail, check her hooves. Done! He grabbed the saddle pad and put it onto the young mare’s spine. Adjusting it after her body he found the saddle and easy got it onto the pad and fitted it over her rather brawny but elegant back. He tightened the girth once but heard that she pushed her barrel up. No trying to fool me lass. He grinned and grabbed her bridle. Slipping in the bit and putting it over her ears the mare sniffed at his hair while he wrapped the usual red band aids to protect her from hurting her legs. She sniffed him curiously and looked around but didn’t see anything that caught her attention. Fastening the last band aid Drover rose up and stretched his body until he opened the gate.
THE mare started wandering out but her reins was easily caught by his strong palm. He let her out until closing and locking the stall door securely. Leading the equine outside of the barn he halted her. The girth got tightened a second time and he saw how she got confused by the sudden tightening but snorted and flicked her ears. Clicking his tongue the mare started to move again and he took down her stirrups. Mounting her while being in movement the male took the reins softly. ‘Kiss the Dirt’ otherwise known as Capricornia halted and turned her head looking at him. She was curious of what he wanted her to do; the male gave the beautiful horse a smile and stroke her neck when he caught a pair in the corner of his eye. He was still new and unused to this place hence he got rather curious of all the times. The tip of his toe was easily taken underneath the mare’s shoulder giving her a tap to make her move. The mare was quite sensitive which made it more easier to use small and gentle moves to make her go into a walk, trot, jog, canter or gallop.
BUT she had seen where they were going. Her ears perked up and she flashed out her nostrils. She wasn’t a, flirter, more like the one being flirted with. However she had never been turned around barrels, she hadn’t been in that many shows either but loved to just be ridden and cuddled with. She nickered her usual greeting but elapsed the time enough to release her squeak which still reminded her of a foal trying to neigh. Jack D. Samuelsson otherwise known as just Jack or Drover patted the lively five years old neck. He watched the young girl and her handsome stallion around the barrels but he too could notice the weak right side. She’s training at least. He praised inside his own mind. Seeing them halt before going into the fence made him clap lightly. The complete ebonite mare flicked her ears; she moved her head up with ears perked all of a sudden. Her eyes had that spark which you could rarely see in many horses. The spark which told you, she could do anything she was asked for. Nice turn lass. Names Drover, what’s yours? Sorry if I startled you, Capricornia here was curious. The mare snorted at his comment but he gave her a smile while his Australian accent rang through his deep tenors. He was handsome, but he never tried to flirt with children or teens, it was against his law. So this one was safe, right?

`` A snort came through the paint stud's nostrils. His ears flickered, waiting for Andrea to command something else. She continued to ask him to walk, though not at a slow pace. She wanted him to go at a quicker pace then usual. Once at the other end of the arena, she gathered the reins and asked him to tuck his head in. Once tucked, she put her left foot higher toward his shoulder, right foot toward his rump, and she only moved her reins slightly, asking him for small circles toward his right. He flickered his ears and quickly obeyed. He moved to his right, but he didn't go tightly as what Andrea wanted him to. She continued to ask him but the only thing she got out of him was speeding up. So, to change things up a bit, she made him walk forward and try his left side. His left side, however, was much easier. He was piviting, something Andrea liked but she didn't ask it. She stopped him and asked again until he made small circles, very small circles toward his left. She praised him with a grin and a stroke on the neck before once again asking it for his right side. He snorted loudly, a bit frustrated, but continued to do as asked. It took about ten minutes before Aiden got the hang of it and getting his right shoulder more loose.
`` An unfamiliar voice was heard not too far away. Not only that, but a clap was settled with it. She asked Aiden to continue walking, but she turned her body a bit, looking in the man's direction. She didn't notice that anyone was watching her while she practiced and ran the barrels. She grinned, happily toward the man. "Thank you, sir", she called to him. She asked Aiden to move toward the man and his beautiful horse. She looked at the mare with a grin on her face. Aiden had his ears pricked and greeted her with a whinny. "My name is Andrea", she said softly as she got closer to the man who called himself Drover. "Nice meeting you", she spoke again. She turned Aiden to go the same direction as the man and his horse. "Beautiful horse you got" she complimented again. Following her compliment, Aiden whinnied again.

HE smiled at Andrea a gentle but also cheeky grin, kind of at least. The black mare couldn’t help herself, with ears perking she whinnied even louder moving underneath him in a restless manner. Easy love, easy. I know yah like ‘em boys but no need to drive ‘em away aye? Capricornia snorted lightly but perked her ears and let her head forth trying to sniff at the other stallion. The mix mare was always curious and lively seeing as she was only five but you could easily see how healthy she was. Bright eyes, shining coat, ears perking forth and a completely relaxed body as well as muscles lightly ripping showing that she knew she was good. Drover patted his mare until he heard the voice of Andre and gave her a smile again. No worries ma’am. His got some good turns, not that old is he, aye? You’ll do fine you’ll see. Drover was a relaxed man, had a hot temper but that was usually included with youngsters not doing as they were told. But then again, seeing someone practice this hard to get the horse to cooperate was a great bond. He could see how Aidan would listen attentively when Andrea would speak, a great sign for a horse that doesn’t only know obedience, but also loves and likes to hear their owners voice.
EVEN so his mind never strained faraway from the tent. He listened to her talking, introducing herself and didn’t need to know her last name. The mare listened to the females’ voice, decided that this person was ok and murmured softly saying hello to the person but held her curiosity upon the stallion in front of her. Jack smiled and stroke her neck again praising her for being this patient and for showing a gentle and friendly side instead of being stubborn and grumpy. Nice meeting you too Andrea. Mind if I join in? Haven’t ridden for a couple of days. He rubbed his neck calmly but didn’t feel uncomfortable. Not at all, he was quite relaxed like he usually was at least. Looking around he noticed that she had no company but didn’t want to seem like he tried to hit on her or something. It was a friendly manner, he wasn’t a pervert! He was thirty-six years old for lord’s sake! Why would he have any interest in younger girls? Of course he thought of her as pretty but she was a student nonetheless which meant off limits. But Jack D. Samuelsson wasn’t that kind of person. He was more fatherly then a flirter. And even if he would want to flirt it would probably be with ladies at the age of thirty and up, he guessed.
HEARING the compliment made the male smile warmly. He was proud of her, aye he was really proud of her. Of course he was looking for another equine to train, in a couple of months or something. For now he just wanted to keep his work with Capricornia. She was his little princess, but she was a beautiful princess. Her coat hadn’t any splash of white, completely solid black and she would never change that. Of course, he was probably going to breed her, but that would be either towards another brumby or a thoroughbred, he didn’t want the lines to be more abrupt then they already were, not that he was complaining. Aye thank you, she’s my pride. You’re stud ain’t half bad himself. He looks like he would do anything for you, but his a real stud. You could rarely find anything that told you he mocked you. He was in fact praising Aidan for his beautiful colors as well as his temper that seemed patient but lively. If only his own mare would be patient. She was pawing the ground a little getting tired of standing still and shook her elegant head while waiting for something more to happen.

`` Stud's audits flickered, curious and interested in the mare as much as she seemed to be interested in him. He snorted, standing there. He was very well at listening when doing something actively, but after standing for a long while, he sometimes got impatient. Especially around mares. This reminded Andrea of the old western movies, where the cowboys always had troubles holding their studs back and then with a light tap, the horses would gallop as quickly as possible and the cowboys would always hand on for dear life. She smiled softly at her own thoughts and patted her boy, praising him once he had calmed a bit. He managed to stand still, thought bobbing his head and wanting to begin moving again. He was not the one to rest for a minute, unless he really had to. He snorted softly, shaking his head.
`` With his comment of Aiden, Andrea couldn't help but to smile. She nodded, putting a strand of loose hair behind her ear. "Thank you" she replied, "He's only about six years." Maybe the question was a rhetorical question, maybe he didn't need an answer, maybe it was only a note or comment he made to himself out loud. She laughed a bit, rubbing her forehead with the back side of her head, slightly embarrassed by her words. She felt young, dumb, and helpless. Though she didn't when riding the stud beneath her well. She tapped his sides, pulling back on the reins slightly as Aiden began to take baby steps forward, hinting to Andrea about how long they've been standing.
`` "Yes, of course" she smiled, always liking company when riding. Though, a lot of times, she didn't mind riding alone, especially when training Aiden or Rhea; not just any old training, but intense training. She nodded, "I'm just exercising Aiden since he hasn't been ridden in a while too" she commented. She gave him some rein, and Aiden lowered his head toward the ground. He itched the side of his mouth, though Andrea didn't want him to. She tugged a bit on the reins, pulling his head back up. That could hurt her bridle, leaving her with a broken one and not enough money to buy another. He swished his tail, showing a bit of irritation, but showing none through his ears. She simply ignored him.
`` Andrea looked over his mare, the black mare stood there a bit impatiently, but what horse would stand there like a statue? They all had a mind of their own, and they would be sure to use it. She grinned, nodding and agreeing with Dover. "She is very pretty" she said, admiring the mare. Though, her stud wasn't bad. He was actually a good boy and he loved to listen. "He has is off days though. Everyone does" she sighed with a light laugh. "Shall we get moving? They seem to be a bit impatient" she commented, watching the two horses with a grin.

THE smile was not fading as he sat calmly upon Capricornia’s rather impatient back. She was half dancing half tripping in one place snorting impatiently but held her eyes on Aiden liking the attention he was giving her. Hearing how old the stallion was he had to smile. So he was right after all. They would go far seeing as Aiden wasn’t even in his best years yet. He nodded giving her a friendly smile and was glad that she accepted his proposal or whatever it was called. Thank you lass. I don’ think she would last a momen’ more. He laughed lightly as the mare snorted giving his momentarily question correct. She pawed the ground again and shook her head showing him how irritated she was at standing still for this long. He collected the reins a little taking her head back in giving her a firm but gentle command that she did not need to be this impatient, she was going to get ridden. Even so he hadn’t met that many people here, not yet. He was probably in the barn a lot or just doing ground work with his mare. Yes he only had one but seriously, he felt like he had the whole world when she was with him. Sure she wasn’t a pure bred thoroughbred or brumby, but she knew more then both equines together.
CAPRICORNIA could easily go into a bow or lie down. He had trained her since she was a baby; he had not only trained her but also showed her love and affection. She was a sweet horse and had never been harmed. He had been lucky to have her since she was a foal born from her mother and he was proud of them both. A shame that Catching Flight was back at his uncle’s ranch, but Catcher was already eighteen years old but she was a hard worker and her daughter had gotten most of her mother’s attitude. But the thought of the rough hardy Brumbies was calming. He liked the Australian equines, not that he had anything against the Quarter Horses or Paint’s, but there was just something about Brumbies and the Australian Stock Horse that usually caught his eye. Which reminded him about his uncle who had called him two days ago. Hey mate! I found yah a nice looking fellow. A three year old, Australian Stock Horse, he is a stud I tell yah! Wan’ him? Oh Drover wanted that fellow, it was for sure, but he just didn’t know if he could afford the colt yet. But the thought of a friend for Capricornia was making him think it over.
EYES went back to Andrea as he had spaced out a little. He rubbed the back of his neck feeling bad for thinking about is home and the equines there. But hearing the admiration made him smile again and he patted the mare who seemed to have caught the compliment as well. Yah, many won’ believe me when I tell ‘em that she’s a mix. But thank you. The mare nodded her agreement or anything else, it was really hard to tell because she had this switch between being impatient, having her attention against Aiden and him. She was complicated but could focus when she was told aye. But he laughed gently and lightly when she commented about his off days and looked at Aiden almost suspiciously. You sure? That bronco looks like he would never be a bad boy! Capricornia’s bad days usually goes with me running around tryin’ to please her, I’m not even allowed to take her out of the stall. If I even try she’ll set her hoof down and stand there. He made a light grimace but smiled hearing the displeased snort as the mare caught his words. But he nodded when Andrea asked if they should move. Can’t agree with yah more lass. He tapped lightly underneath her shoulder and the mare went into a smooth walk her ears perking as she felt that she could move. He opened the gate and let her walk inside until he closed it again. The solid black mare looked around tripping underneath him but he hushed her down so he could speak. Tell me Andrea, what kind of exercise are you two doin’ today? He was curious but that could also give him an idea that could maybe help both of them.

`` Now in motion, Aiden seemed to calm a bit. Though, his auds kept toward the mare that was now next to him. He nickered softly to her. Andrea corrected him, turning his head a bit away from her. She didn't mind them being friendly to each other, but she didn't want for him to keep his mind and all of his attention on her and not their exercise today. She laughed lightly, shaking her head as he fussed a bit, but he soon gave in. "Oh I'm sure all horses have the days when they don't want to do a thing" she laughed lightly, "When he has his off days, I literally mean off. He will do good for about five minutes before bucking me off repeatedly and then I'd have to give in and put him either in the pasture or stall" she laughed, thinking about the first days she rode him. The days when he was still young, around three, and didn't like saddles or bridles. Those were the days.
`` The questioned that followed made her think a bit. She wasn't really doing anything specific at the moment. She had already warmed his shoulders up and getting him to move right. Though, it wouldn't hurt if she worked on his shoulders a bit, and his lead changes of course. She shrugged, looking at Dover. "Nothing specific" she spoke truthfully, "I'm probably going to get his shoulders warmed up a bit more, work with lead changes, and then run a couple barrels" she spoke slowly, still unsure of what they were really going to do, but that sounded good for a day like this. "What about you?" she asked, glancing at his mare, soon back at him.

THE mare started to prod lightly underneath him getting the hang of walking which amused him. She was just a show off today, great another problem on his hands. But he got her focused on the ground soon and she could finally just walk relaxed and easy beside the other stallion. He laughed however at her comment and could clearly see how it was. Oh I know the feel. If I look back at the time when I tried to ride her, the first times, she hated me for days and turned her rump at me when she saw the saddle. He laughed lightly and patted the mare’s shining neck. Capricornia turned her head, ears flicking curiously as if to ask him if he was talking about her. He smiled and gave her a light pat on her muzzle, she snorted and half squeaked, it was her own tone. It reminded him of a foal’s cry which usually surprised him but not now. He was used to her weird foal squeak and just looked at her thinking it was cute. He had to give a light tap on the reins to make her loosen her shoulders. He had noticed how she had been excited and hence tensed her shoulders, it was a bad thing she had learned but she could easily relax again.
HE listened to her quietly and nodded now and then while thinking himself. Yeah, what had he been thinking of working with Capricornia? Wow, he had no words. The hand rubbed his neck as he tried to think when he remembered it. He didn’t need to work on her groundwork, but he had to give her some lead change lessons, the sudden halt as well as a couple of rounds around the barrels to keep her fit. Which meant some usual but easy training just to keep her muscles in tact and her memory of course, which was easy because she was a quick learner. Pretty much the same as you, lead change, barrels but also a little rodeo so she remembers what she is, I don’t want her to run around thinking she’s the princess all the time. The mare snorted and started tripping underneath him, Drover deepened his seat easily giving her a harder time to trip, Capricornia looked at him curiously until she nipped at Aiden wanting his attention. He shook his head until looking back at Andrea easily and spoke gently. So tell me Ms. Andrea. You got any other horses then this stud? It was a friendly and curiously question, he would never be more then a friend, he hoped at least.

`` Both of the reins were in Andrea's right hand she she moved Aiden around, guiding him where to go, where Andrea wanted to go. She motivated him to move forward by tapping his sides gently. Surprisingly, Aiden walked calmly next to the mare. His usual reaction was to show up and such, but today must have been a good day for him. He was actually obeying what she had to say. She glanced over at Dover, nodding and chuckling at the thought, "I bet" she agreed, "He was pretty much the same. Three year olds are very tough to deal with" she nodded and patted Aiden's neck. When he was three, he wouldn't let her get near her, put a bridle on, saddle, saddle pad, nothing. So when he was three, they worked on the ground, lunging and getting rid of all the excess energy that was stored within him. That happened for a long time, until he turned four. When he was four, everything seemed odd. She didn't have to lunge him anymore. She laughed.
`` Aiden's strides now became longer, and a bit quicker. He wanted to run and mess around, though the messing around would have to wait until later. He flickered his audits, soon snorting as he looked ahead of them. "Well then, maybe we can help each other out a bit" she shrugged, though thinking he didn't need any help. She felt dumb right there, "Or I mean", she stumbled over her words, "Maybe you can help me out? Like, give me tips?" she gave a nervous giggle, trying to calm her nerves a bit.
`` Our Last Dance began to trot, soon letting out a playful buck. Andrea pulled the reins back, tapping her sides. She soon turned him sharply to his left, then to his right several times, making sure he understood that she was the boss and he'd do whatever she says, when she says it. She asked for a trot, picking back up with Dover. "Well, yes. I have a mare, her name is Risky Signature. But we just call her Rhea" Andrea nodded, thinking about her mare happily. Rhea was one good horse, and so was Aiden. Just, Rhea seemed a bit more moody, and yet, more pleasing at the same time. Well, both the horses were great. Choosing favorites shouldn't get in the way. She loved them both equally. "Do you?" she asked kindly.

HE smiles as he listens to her words. Of course he could not see this in front of his eyes, but he knows how it is. Capricornia shakes her head and yanks lightly until she settles. He gives her credit and lets her step forth a couple of minutes until he allows her to settle down in a soft step.
