Mara&Rave OOC: Mar needs help with unloading Rave, so please post if you'd like. I'd appreciate it!!
IC: A loud bang echoed through the yard, breaking any awkward silences. The origin of the loud ringing came from inside a white two-horse trailer. A young girl jumped from the truck in front of the trailer and jogged to the side. She spoke softly to the horse inside. It's okay, buddy. You'll be outta here real soon. She smiled and placed her delicate hand on the stallion's soft nose. Then, she turned around and looked out behind her. She needed help unloading her new horse, but she didn't exactly know anyone yet. This might be hard. Umm.. She walked over to the barn and tried to see if there were any other students just hanging out, but everyone seemed to be busy with thier own horses. She sighed and put her fair-skinned hand on her forehead, biting her lip worriedly.
The girl, walked back to her trailer and tried to sooth the impatient stallion. She smiled and continued to speak softly too him. She told him everything would be alright. Or at least she hoped...

THE MOOD AT THE YARD seemed off today. Sonja was able to pick up on it, as well as her gelding, Flynn. The bay pawed at his shavings eagerly, stirring up the bedding and causing Sonja to laugh. "Something feel off to you, too, boy?" She figured that if something didn't feel quite right to her, it was only natural that Flynn would feel the same way. She didn't plan on riding this afternoon, but seeing him so excitable made Sonja question that decision. Riding off all of this would surely benefit them both.
She slipped the leather halter over his head and led him out of his stall. Flynn's hooves clattered against the aisle as they approached the nearest set of cross ties. For now, he'd just have to settle for a nice, long grooming session. After securing the gelding in the aisle, Sonja fetched a curry comb and went to work on his coat. Not a moment was spared before a commotion coming from the yard was brought to Sonja's attention. Hooves against metal caused the young woman to raise an eyebrow and set down the curry comb, stepping towards the yard worriedly. Her paddock boots clicked against the concrete as the yawning entrance of the barn got closer. A squeal rang out from a trailer followed by another round of hooves against the metal wall. The sight soon became visible to Sonja as she appeared from the barn and stepped onto the freshly mowed lawn. Running a hand through her wavy hair (not given much attention that morning as usual), Sonja cut across the yard before stopping herself a few feet away from the trailer door. "Hello? Anyone there?" She peered into the trailer, her eyes adjusting to the dark interior. The massive stallion was spotted first, before a silhouette of a girl became visible next. She was noticeably trying her best to calm the riled horse, but without much luck. "Hey, do you need some help?"
Sonja wrung out her hands nervously. She wasn't sure how the owner would react to her offer. Some horse owners thought they were better off without assistance, and Sonja had had her fair share of negative confrontation in similar situations. The stallion tossed his head, noticing the stranger's arrival and seeming to get even more worked up. His eyes rolled, the whites lining his pupils standing out more than anything else in the trailer. Specks of foam flew from his mouth and was beginning to darken his neck and flanks. Sonja's mind reeled with ideas. Should they coax him out with food or treats? Put a shirt over his head and attempt to calm him down that way? She had seen it done before, but doubted her own ability to make it work. One thing was certain, though; they needed to find a solution -- and fast.

Mara&Rave Mara stood in front of the large stallion, massaging his cheek. She tried to keep her cool, but it was hard to when Rave continued to bang on the trailer wall. She winced painfully everytime his hoof connected with metal. As the teenager tried to figure out what she needed to do, she heard a voice coming from behind the large stallion. She stood on her toes and craned her neck. She was so happy to see the other girl, she grinned and gave a small wave. Umm, Well - I think so. Do you think you could help? She tried to smile and climbed from the trailer to greet the girl - and thank her. Mar was shy and blushed when she approached her. H-Hey, I'm Mara. This is Rave. He doesn't like trailers. She tried to seem outgoing and friendly, but it was hard for her. She glanced towards the ground and then up at the girl.
Mar almost felt embaressed to need help with Rave. Any experienced rider would know what to do, she was just nervous about her first day here and what everyone would think if her. She must've looked like a complete fool. Great Job, Mar. Great Job. Her thoughts wandered as she waited to see what the other girl would say.

REALIZING THAT THE ACCOMPANYING GIRL had recognized her presence, and was by no means showing a negative response, Sonja couldn't help but smile as the girl slid past the trembling stallion and out of range from a potential kick. As the stranger turned a noticeable shade of pink and smiled, Sonja returned the gesture, feeling at ease with the girl. Usually she was the one to blush and present herself as a timid, shy character. This was different - feeling somewhat confident - but Sonja wasn't complaining. To feel at ease with someone so quickly was not a common event to take place in her life, after all. The girl's kind nature was certainly helping her feel relaxed, which Sonja greatly appreciated. A negative mood didn't ever seem to help Sonja's confidence. She decided to take advantage of feeling at ease before her anxiety began to creep up on her, if that were to be the case.
The girl introduced herself as Maya, and Sonja's smile broadened as the girl's gaze fell before quickly lifting. "That's a pretty name." said Sonja genuinely, offering her hand. "I'm Sonja." She laughed at her comment on Rave. "I see. Maybe I can help. Are you familiar with Bach Flower Remedies?" Her eyes searched the girl's, straining to pick up on any recognition of such methods. She figured if Maya hadn't heard of using them but was willing to try it out, Sonja had the perfect remedy in mind. Star of Bethlehem and Rock Rose in Bach's Rescue Remedy was sure to at least show some improvement in Rave, for his fear of being trailered seemed to Sonja fairly traumatic and associated with shock, panic, and terror. Perhaps it would calm the stallion even more so than Sonja hoped. "I have some Rescue Remedy in my tack trunk, if you'd like for me to put a few drops in his water." Sonja's gaze urged the girl to allow her to test alternative methods on the stallion, if Maya wasn't already doing so already. Hey, if all else failed, Sonja could probably settle with some Rescue Remedy herself. It would do her anxiety well.
