Okay well i wanna start showing my two horses this summer and i need show names for them. The buckskin is an Arab/Fjord named Ben. He will be doing dressage only as he is to lazy for jumping and to bulky for it. The appy is a POA/QH named Watson. He will hopefully be doing jumpers and dressage. It should be fun. I need advice on names as i have no clue what good show names for them are. Here is a pic. If you want more let me know. Any names are helpful and if you have any advice on what colors i should show them in i'd love that too. Also i need to find a way to cut Ben's mane up so that it looks like a Fjord's mane. Does anybody have advice on that? I don't wanna shave it all off but i can't see any other option.

I'm not good at show names... but do you want their barn names worked into the show name or does it matter?
As far as making his mane stick up like a Fjord... I've got to 'immediate' ideas that will have immediate results... but you could always hog it off and let it grow back... it grows back straight up until it's heavy enough to lay over on the neck. I did that to my mares mane last August... it about three-four months, her mane was about three inches long and sticking straight up... it's layed down over her neck now, though.
The downside is that hogging the mane makes it grow back thicker... -_-... Which you said you didn't really want to shave it... so yeah...
The only other idea I'd have would be mega-hold, non-toxic hair gel (lol...)... but somehow I don't think that'd fly in the show ring.
As far as show names... I'll keep thinking and maybe I'll have some by tomorrow...

Thnx for the ideas. I'll probably shave almost all of it off. Cause it is really thick like a Fjords. Its just the person we bought him from never trimmed his mane so it grew so long. I just trimmed it today so its about a hands width long. Still lays on his neck. I gotta trim more off tomarrow or something.
I'd actually prefer that their barn names aren't in their show names. Can't think anything good could really come of it. But thnx anyways.

Hmmm....I won't say I'm good at show names because I'm not XD But I got a couple of ideas thinking about 'em...
Ideas: Ben - Sharing Affection - Build of Glory - Give a Chance
Watson - Dark Spots (lol, ironic) - Curious Incident. - Cover the Flow - Never say No
But as I said. I'm not that amazing or good with names But I think they fit them. But I wanted to call Ben "Big Teddybear" xD He looked like a teddy lol. I wanna cuddle now :3

Names: Limited Edition Sins and Virtues Not Available Not an Option Optional Tuff Enough Hang Time Just Savvy Enough Just Watch Me Storybook Ending
Colors: I think Ben would look good in darker colors... maybe a deep green or rust red... dark navy blue always looks good on darker horses as well.
Watson, on the other hand... black would look goon on him, as well as bright red or baby blue. Lighter colors for lighter horses.

Thnx so much guys. Love the names.
I am very partial to Cloud Nine for Watson. Even my mom thinks that's an amazing name for him. It would really suit him. And yes Watson does look good in light colors. I have light red wraps that i put on the horses when i work them sometimes and i think he looks handsome with them on.
I'll get some pictures of them all tacked up soon. Everything is melting here and its all muddy so its difficult.
As for Ben. I like a lot of the names but for some reason none of them say him. He's a really calm, laid back horse. Although when he wants to show off he starts looking like an arab. His head goes up and his tail goes high.
As for colors for Ben I've never tried dark colors on him. He might look good in dark purple wraps. I have some. He's been using light red wraps. I'll get some pictures so you guys can tell me what you think.
More name idea's are always welcome.

An idea popped in my head as you said that he was patient but energetic. Hidden Fire Unraveled Patience Counting Crows (love the band but probably doesn't fit him ) Calm before Storm Lay Low or maybe I'm just trying to hard lol. I'm bored and I need to go to bed but then again, I think probably purple will suit him best or a beige saddle pad actually because not all dark colors fit on dark colors, but a soft beige probably that will just seem natural on his back. He'll probably look cute either way and I'm not fancy of Fjord's becaue they're so stubborn here in Norway, and I mean stubborn. A gelding stepped on my foot adn stood there, I was under and inch to get in real trouble because it was winter and he had well, winter shoes with those thingies on (can't remember the english name) it hurt! He wouldn't move either, too busy eating his food lol ramble done xD

I love show names. =D They should be quite interesting...
Ben
- Ben A While
- Watch Big Ben
- Impressing Ben
Watson
- Moon Spots
- Watson on Broadway
- Mr. Watson
Those didn't come as easily, and aren't as good. If you have their sire & dam names it'd help, but anywho. =]
