cross the highways of fantasy HELP ME TO FORGET TODAY'S PAIN
_____kanye west's lyrics wafted into redford's ears, the nubs from his ipod providing the tunes. earlier that day, he'd unloaded a horse from the local taea into a nearby corral. he needed something to distract him from the pain she'd inflicted upon him. the pretty bay took a liking to his fingers, and eventually she took a good chomp on one of them. now his forefinger was bandaged with a green band-aid. it was red's fault, though; he shouldn't have trusted a strange horse with the value of his digits. taking a deep breath, he looked over his shoulder at the mare in the small corral behind him. she had so much potential. her friendly persona would make her great for one of the more experienced riders at southern blues. he'd somehow coerced her into taking a carrot straight from his mouth a few moments ago, but he doubted she'd do it again. scar was a bit head shy, but was very friendly for the most part. it would be a lot of fun training her for some kid at the stable. _____redford nabbed the lead rope dangling over the corral's fence. he was eager to get started on working with her. the way red saw it, he might as well not waste time and get started immediately. the ride to the farm was easy-going and she was a dream to load; scarlet hardly seemed stressed out. opening the gate, he closed it behind him and approached the dainty horse. he'd never been around paso finos before, so this would be a new experience for both of them. if everything went according to his plan today, he'd get her started on lunging and then put her back in the corral for some one-on-one bonding time, which involve plenty of carrots and grooming tools. she was already in flawless condition, but a horse could never get too clean. the taea workers took great care of their equines. "c'mere, baby," he cooed to her. she raised her head and trotted in the other direction. dammit, she was one of those types, the type that didn't like to be caught. it was just his luck. _____trying to come up to her at a different angle, he offered his hand and stood perfectly still. she shook her head, seemingly denying him of access to her halter. "scarlet, honey, c'mere," urged an optimistic redford. he would get on the good side of this horse whether she liked it or not, as ironic as that sounds. removing a small slice of apple from his rear pocket, he planted it on a flat hand and offered it to her. she instantly perked her ears. ah, so that was the way to get her! he smirked confidently as she cautiously walked up to him, neck outstretched as much as possible. her lips nibbled against his palm's flesh, reaching for the apple. she snatched it between her teeth, getting a bit of his skin in the process, and darted off. "fuck!" he squeaked in a mixture of surprise and pain, causing her to flex her muscles, shying away from him. great, he spooked her! note the sarcasm. now he had one less treat and he wasn't getting anywhere with the mare. there had to be someone around here that knew how to catch a horse.

Rummy was defintaly not in a good mood today. She had done her earlier bucking fits on the trail, but after a little ways of running, she become hot and hyper. Sighing , Kc worked on rocking the reins, and slowing the mare down to a actuall walk rather then a prancy type walk. The mare was light on her legs, and dancing back and forth, swinging her hind quarters every where.. and trying to head back to her stall. Back to grain.. feed.. and a good grooming it. Walk Rummy. This is getting quite rediculous. Kc said to the mare as Rummy turned her head around and tried to bite her foot. It's not my fault you get hyper after we run. Kc grumbled to the mare as she finally got her to stop prancing.
By then they were half way to to the barn, near the small rings. Rummy lifted her head up, watching something in the distance.. a plastic bag. The paint mare arched her neck and pranced agian, Kc sighed. Please do not tell me that you're afraid of a plastic bag today.. when you aren't any other day.. Kc said to the mare as the plastic bag floated their way. Snorting, Rummy spun around on her hind quarters and bucked high into the air. And Kc, not expecting it, landed on the ground.Damn that hurt.. She said out loud to her self, but quickly stood up, and looked at the mare who was attempting to prance away. The split reins draging on the ground. Whistling softly, Kc drew the mare's attention back to her.
Taking a treat out of her pocket, Kc tossed it into the air, then rubbed her hands together. The tobiano knew exactly what that was, treat time! Tossing her head, Rummy carried to the side, as she trotted back towards Kc, careful not to step on the reins as she did. Good girl Rummy. Kc said and patted the mare's neck before picking up the reins, and leading her towards the barn, not noticing that some one else was having trouble catching their own horse..
