She looked around the stable, nothing. Walking into the barn with gentle steps she heard the relieved neigh of her stallion as he poked his head out. He was still the same. Eyes of emerald meeting amber were calm and she stroke his neck. Easy boy, nothing to worry about ok? She checked his temper under his blanket and noted that eh had been calmer, good, he was slowly gaining her trust and the knowledge that she would come back to him. Smiling she kissed his lips and walked back into the tack room. Eyes searched for where she had put his tack. Oh yes, she was still keeping most of Loop’s tack seeing as him and Twister weren’t that change in size. Smiling she found a dark red saddle pad, the brown all round English saddle, a bridle and the lounge line. The grooming kit was already in front of the stallion’s stall and she was glad that he hadn’t freaked out like the first couple of weeks. He was really getting calmer. Clipping on his lead the seventeen year old put her Belgian Warmblood in the cross tie, easily accessing the necessary kit to groom him. The large stallion lipped up in the air enjoying the feeling of his blanket being taken off and the brush flowing over his body. The soft strokes were in the middle of tickling and pleasuring him at the same time.
A giggle escaped her lips and the female kissed his neck. You’re such a silly boy aren’t you? He nodded as if he understood but she knew better, he was just nodding to her gentle tone. But even so Armelia usually made her mind think that he understood and therefore kept her tone gentle and spoke to him more then once. Looking at the clock she remembered when she had scheduled to have the jumping ring because of his training. He was going to trust her fully now. The female started tacking him, feeling how he moved gently when she took on his new pad and saddle. He took the bit after a couple of minute’s hesitation and goofing around but she noticed how he calmed down. Putting on the lead’s no each side of his bit she went inside and found four leg wrappers. She really needed to protect his legs. They were important to him after all. She wrapped them around his legs and checked them after awhile to see if anything was wrong. Finding everything in order Alto rechecked his girth and unclipped the cross tie. She took on the lounge line and lead him out of the barn, she wasn’t going to enjoy it but was for the best, right?
At the sight of the small jumps standing only 1 foot to a 2 footer she noticed how tense he got. Twister started tossing his head and tugged the rope but she didn’t even blink. Easy, easy. You’re not going to jump ok? Trust me. She wouldn’t do it today, it was still to soon. She could still train dressage with him and had done it to train his muscles up as well as lounging him several times letting him get used to her voice. She had worked hard with him when she wasn’t mucking out his stall, getting both his and Silly’s feed done or trying to get closer to the mare. Today was almost as his exam, well kind off, not yet. Just a little term test, or something like that, Alto opened the gate and had to almost drag him in while speaking softly and cunningly to him, he really didn’t like it now did he? The stallion half reared and showed white not liking this one bit but finally got in the ring. Closing the gate so he didn’t have anywhere to go she went in the middle. There where only four jumps, one on each side of the four walled fence. Standing in the middle she patted his rump and he started walking around as far as he could from them. She knew he was hesitating but gave him more line and stomped her hoof. She was still the boss no matter what, and Twister obeyed with a hesitant look on her and kept a high eye on the jumps. He neighed at her, eyes showing white now and then and he tried to get back but was only sent away again.
She held him on a firm distance, right in the middle of her and the jumps. She would have him there till he got used to them and accepted them at this distance. She wasn’t going to push him, but she had to see how far she could go with him for awhile until he would rear. The stallion snorted and heaved now and then laying tightly on the bit but after a couple of round eased, they weren’t so bad at this distance, just small obstacles right? Seeing him ease up the female clicked her tongue and got him further from her and again felt how tense he got. He snorted, threw his head up and down and started dancing with his fore-hooves, he wanted back again. She didn’t allow him and concentrated on the stallion. I just hope no one will think that they can come in. He’ll freak out the way he is now. She could see that he started to get easily spooked and calmed him by murmuring to him with her soothing tone. She saw how his head bobbed calming down slowly, he was getting better but she wouldn’t move him closer to the jumps just yet, it was still too soon.

the sunshine was pouring out from between the fluffy white clouds into redford's stark blue eyes. a friend of his had just purchased an $18 thousand oldenburg stallion not even three hours ago. stranger--or "i talk to strangers," as his registration papers read--was a little over 17 hands and had an attitude to match his big, bulky appearance. he was hardly broken well enough for a novice rider, which tina ( his brand new owner ) certainly was. redford was shocked that she'd gone out on a whim to buy such a beast, but he said nothing to her about it. hurting her feelings was the last thing he wanted to do. thus, he kept his mouth shut and agreed to test ride the animal. yeah, she hadn't even ridden him before the purchase. she had no dollars than sense, you could say. stranger's intense glare almost intimidated redford as he approached him on the brick mounting block. he hadn't been on the back of a horse this big since he was, say, 16. he hardly wanted to do this, but he might as well get it over with. there was no way in hell he would bluff. besides, he was an experienced rider. he could easily handle the ebony equine.
shoving one foot into the stirrup, he swung his lanky leg over the wide back of stranger. the horse side-stepped several times, tossing his head and snorting furiously. his neck whipped around and he began to snap his teeth in the direction of redford's polished field boots. "psst!" the rider warned, his hands see-sawing the reins in order to protect his legs. this was a vicious animal if he'd ever come across one. not pleased with the outcome of his first vice, stranger began to arch his back. instinctively, redford deepened his seat and pulled back on the reins to prevent the horse's head from lowering. regardless, the horse unsuccessfully attempted a buck. redford stayed seated. wanting to let him know he was out of line, redford squeaked, "ay!" he took several deep breaths, being as cautious as possible. was this horse even broken? not wanting to insult tina for buying him, he stayed quiet and kept his mind on staying in the english saddle. once he found his center and gathered the reins accordingly, tina began to speak. "he likes to have his head, red. let him have his head," she instructed. redford knew better. shaking his head with wide eyes and his brows raised, red kept the reins back so far that stranger's neck was kept at a dramatic arch. "if i let him have his head, tina, i'll end up on the pavement with a cracked neck." it was always a humbling experience to be on the back of a 1,300 pound animal, at it's very mercy.
steering the horse away from the mounting block, he clicked the eager stud into a trot. "easy does it," red soothed, one gloved hand holding the reins firmly while the horse frothed at the mouth. white foam flew from side to side as he tossed his elegant, though large head. the steady sound of shoes against concrete clacked as he posted along with the rhythm of stranger, redford's free hand patting the stallion's neck. his ears were all over the place, listening to the sound of birds chirping and cats approaching them. that was when all hell broke loose. stranger noticed the jumping arena, where another horse was located. he was smart, redford would give him that. clearing his throat, the rider looked over to tina for guidance. "what now?" he asked. shrugging her narrow shoulders, the brunette looked longingly at the jumps. "try him on a few jumps?" she questioned both herself and redford, looking up at him with a half smirk. his reponse was a shrug of his shoulders and a nod. "sure."
trotting elegantly over to the jumping arena, redford then noticed that a horse was within it. "`ey, you mind if i take this stud over a couple of jumps?" he called to the woman in the center of the arena. she seemed attractive from this distance, but he couldn't quite tell. the horse making his way round the ring was only causing more muscles beneath red's saddle to ripple. two stallions in one arena? hell no. before she could respond, he answered for her, "nevermind! i don't think that would be such a good idea..." redford trailed off. tina, being a somewhat ignorant equestrian, opened the gate anyway. "close it, tina!" red snapped. but it was too late. stranger burst into the arena, jumping over one of the three footers and knocking a rail down. red yanked back on the reins of the double bridle, but it didn't do much good. the damage was already done; his front leg was bleeding. "whooaaa," redford stammered, his hands pulling onto the reins until the stud was at a stand-still. "close the gate, tina!" he called over his shoulder. she did so. but what now?

She had started to grow safe in Twister. The sixteen point two hands tall stallion started to relax and only snorted now and then when she heard the clacking of hooves. Deciding to concentrate on her task she made the ebonite stallion go nearer the jumps and felt how he tensed and relaxed when passing the jumps and then heard a male voice. The seventeen year old turned her head and was just about to answer when he heard her. Looking over the fuming stallion she understood and was just about to go back on her own horse when this unknown girl had the nerve to open the gate and let in the rather impulsive stallion from Armelia’s side and hell literally broke loose. Twister saw the large stallion suddenly bolt in and shot up, he neighed terrified and furiously at someone entering his domain. Kicking out loud the Belgian Warmblood set off after the other but was soon caught feeling the lead. He looked back at Armelia but didn’t calm down looking at her, he was furious she could see it but also scared. With the white showing in his eyes the horse started rearing. Twister, easy boy, its ok. Easy! No! It was too late.
Twister set off towards her almost as if he begged her to let him loose, to save him and to run away from him. She started to grow frightened but knew not to show it. Glaring at the girl that had now closed the gate the younger female used the lounge rope as a whip and hit the ground right in front of the stallion. Easy, come here, you’ll be ok. The horse took a couple of wary steps but seeing the stallion made him rear and kick her over, she felt his knee in her stomach and was sent backwards on the ground. Hitting the ground with her head the female yelped out in pain but soon enough sat up. She started to sing in a hushed tone, ebonite ears twirled forth and back nervously and he snorted at the other stallion half rearing until hearing the tone. Turning his head towards the female he walked with wary steps again but understood quickly that she was fine and wanted him to come over. Just a huge headache and a couple of scratches, she was really lucky getting knocked over by the large stallion. Sitting u slowly after he had come in Armelia was truly furious.
She was never the one to curse but right now she felt like it. What right does it give you!? I reserved this area for two hours because of Twister and you just ruined two weeks of work! She didn’t know who she was going to be most pissed on, the male on the horse or the female but she understood quickly it was the female. She had heard him warning her not to open the gate but that girl had been full of herself hadn’t she? With sweat running underneath the stallion’s blanket and saddle Armelia started to let her fingers go in the t-touch making her horse relax until she could start again after thinking. Even if my horse isn’t as expensive as yours doesn’t give you any right. He is a rescuer and gives me more right then you because I reserved it. Stop being an arrogant brat! She couldn’t help herself, she was fuming. Her British accent flowed into her words and she got her things after relaxing the stallion, she couldn’t start working with him this soon. She had to wait two weeks until she could try and she who was seeing so much progress in him. Her work and sweat had been for nothing now! And she had to think about Silly as well, darned noisy and spoiled kids! Twister moved a little nervously beside her unsure of how to react as she waited for an explanation from any of them before she would leave or do something else to relieve her stress, she really didn’t need this.

long fingers fastening themselves around stranger's reins, redford tried his best to keep his seat in the midst of the miniature disaster. he pulled back on them, keeping the horse from bolting toward the other stud for a second time, who was now absolutely terrified. red felt awful, he felt as though it was his fault for bringing the thought up of jumping the new stud. now a horse was hurt and an owner was angry; never a good combination, especially since he was employed at the stable. once stranger was finally under control--though his bit was covered with white foam and he was rolling his eyes around in their sockets--redford decided to get him out of there. he kicked his feet out of the stirrups and swung off the horse. landing fluidly, his knees absorbed the light impact and he flipped the reins over the horse's head. he would probably have more control over stranger while on the ground, anyway. red tightly gripped onto the reins, not giving the stud an inch to move his head around. every muscle redford had went into pulling him out of that damn arena and leading him toward the mounting block again. he unlatched the arena gate once he saw that the other stallion was on the opposite side, led the angsty stud out, and relatched the gate, leaving tina in there to deal with the mess herself.
ha, as if she would stay in there. avoiding the angry girl like the plague, tina climbed over the gate and ran after redford. "what do i do now?! that girl is hysterical and so is her horse," she whined, her hands running through her curly brown hair. she was a pretty girl, but she didn't have a whole lot of brains. red shook his head and pointed back at the arena. "get back in that f_cking arena and apologize right now or i'm giving you the reins to this horse and leaving," redford ordered behind gritted teeth. he was livid. not only could someone have gotten hurt, but stranger was bleeding. he could have seriously injured himself. if only she would have listened to redford. tina obediently complied, though she sulked all the way back to the arena where she half-heartedly claimed to be sorry. red, on the other hand, was in the boarding barn untacking the stud. stranger stood in cross-ties while he loosened up the girth and removed the saddle. what was a boy to do? he sighed, patting the stud's shoulder before disappearing into the tack room. it wasn't stranger's fault; it was tina's. he couldn't wait to get his hands on her.
an hour later, the horse's wound was dressed and the on call veterinarian had visited to make sure the new stallion was still in tip-top shape. but what that girl had said really hit a nerve. that poor rescue horse. with tina long gone and her horse in his appropriate stall, redford was left alone. he ought to go home, but decided to apologize beforehand. sauntering over to the arena, he wiped the sweat from his forehead and looked over the gate. the girl was still in there with the restless stallion. what should he say? not wanting to interrupt them, he stood there for several minutes, his chin on the top of the gate while the two worked together. the stallion seemed to be upset by redford's presence, which he oddly took as a sign to introduce himself. "hey, i'm red. i'm real sorry about earlier. she didn't...well...it won't happen again, is what i mean to say," he explained, climbing up onto the gate so she could get a better look at him.

The look of the rather shabby pair didn’t sooth Armelia and she decided while they went there she could at least try to take the stallion in again. She heard however footsteps again and glared as the other girl came back and gave a half-heartedly sorry. She snorted just as her stallion did and answered sharp and short. Sorry doesn’t cut it! You ruined my work. She was grumpy, her head hurt like h.ll as well as her stomach and she unclipped Twisters lead. Easily taking the knot out of its position she grabbed her helmet and mounted the anxious stallion carefully. Easy, easy. They’re gone, I promise. She kissed his neck and collected the reins but held them rather loose. Twister moved his ears and looked around, as he reassured himself that nothing was wrong the stallion started to walk again. He tensed as she led him near the jumps spooking now and then and she grunted feeling the sharp pain in her stomach. Nudging the large horse again the teen let him up in a trot and felt how he was rather lumping then having the smooth trot he usually had. She didn’t sigh, no, she couldn’t show that she was feeling disappointed.
Twister snorted and started sweating as he grew anxious, it had gone an half hour and she couldn’t even get him near them. She tried for several minutes until finally giving up. Armelia dismounted him; the feel of her feet hitting the ground was the same as a rock hitting her stomach. It hurt. A head went to her stomach and she felt how worried her horse was. She smiled only lightly and put her head against his forehead. I’m sorry for pressuring you boy. I just want you to go over that fear so bad. I hate it that they had to ruin it. You ok? She whispered softly and felt how he breathed warm in her palms as an answer and had to smile. He really knew how to make her feel better didn’t he? While she was stroking his neck the female forgot about everything until a voice pushed her out of her daydreams. The stallion snorted and moved wary as he noticed the male. Armelia opened her emerald meeting amber colored eyes and turned her cranium seeing the same male that had ridden the other large stallion. She felt a sting of anger but decided against it. She had to go to the hospital either way so why bother argue? She would probably be banned from riding or something, great. Just what she needed.
Looking back towards the young male she noticed something else. Was he perhaps one of the instructors? Darn! Just what she needed, someone telling Amy what had happened. She listened to his apologise and smoothly decided not to ignore him. She clicked her tongue gently and tugged against the stallions reins. Taking the lounge rope as well she walked towards the gate but spoke before she opened it. How’s the other stallion? His bleeding didn’t look good. And don’t worry, it wasn’t your fault. I feel bad for the horse having a brat as an owner. She made a grimace and took off her helmet. The hair that had been in the pony tail got released and she felt the pleasure of her long hair that gracefully bounced and waved naturally. Opening the gate the female led Twister out and closed it until she spoke again. I’m Armelia by the way. And if I were you I would talk with that girl, most of the horses here are rescuers and two of them are mine. She was lucky Twister was, but if it had been Silly then both you and me and the horse would probably be beat up. It wasn’t a joke. Armelia was serious about it. Silent Silhouette was one of the dangerous horses here, probably worse then the nutcase Black Hawk Down. Armelia didn’t really know, but right now, didn’t really care either.

it was awfully considerate of her to be thinking about stranger when her own horse's training was at stake. he smiled in thanks to her and nodded. "he's fine. i had the vet come out and look at his leg. according to him, he's just a bit shaken up," redford responded to the girl. she was pretty, almost too pretty to be out here. most girls with faces and bodies like hers were found in high-end boutiques downtown, not at the stable. but it was nice to have a change, so he didn't question it. besides, it was really none of his business what she planned on doing with her time. if she wanted to groom and train young studs like her own horse out here at the farm, then so be it. redford would be the last to tell her no. besides, looking at her wasn't exactly a chore. in fact, he found himself nearly blushing in her presence. was she a model? he didn't dare ask.
noticing the pole that had fallen down earlier, red approached it. with one hand, he pulled up the right side and adjusted the height, leveling it out with his free hand. he turned his attention back to the girl who was talking to him about how dangerous another horse was. he nodded again. "yeah, and mixing two studs in the same arena is never a good idea. if i'd have known..." he started, then never finished. she knew exactly what he was going to say, there was no point in apologizing all over again. that was when he noticed her stud. he was absolutely drop dead; his coat was shining in good health. it was always good to see a happy horse, although he didn't seem too pleased when stranger entered the arena. "you know, we should probably keep them separated. i stalled stranger, the stud from earlier, at the far side of the barn away from the other horses. just be careful when you're walking yours past him," warned an ever-ready redford. there was no point in there being another fight, so it was best to be safe than sorry.
redford, not knowing what else to do, walked up to the girl and her horse. "so, what's this guy's name?" asked red curiously. he offered his hand to the stud, who raised his head, shying away slightly. redford frowned, his feelings hurt for a brief period of time. her response took him back to their conversation, away from his stirring emotions. his next question was: "how long have you had him?" what was this, an interrogation? well, you see, redford likes to know about all the horses at the stable. it kept him feeling in charge, when in reality he wasn't at all. during the questioning, the stud backed up toward his owner, seeking some sort of protection in her. "you really seem to have a way with him," red complimented, smiling in a friendly manner at the girl. better not get too friendly, red...

The female listened about the stallion being a little shaken up and sighed relieved. The stallion was ok so she wasn’t the one to blame to pay for his bill. Even so she had a feeling that the other teen would probably find a way to make Alto pay, she hated brats. She felt how his eyes seemed to search on him and didn’t really know what to do other then stroking her stallion and listened to him almost apologizing again but he stopped himself from it. She released a gentle giggle but hoped he didn’t get insulted by it. She didn’t need to put them away either way seeing as a class was soon going to start either way. Feeling the hurting in her stomach she took her hand on it trying to calm it down. She really needed to check it up after all. Yeah, I think that idea is good seeing as Twister isn’t quite fond of other horses yet. I’m still working on him with the; horses are after me and my lady situation. She smiled gently and tried to think of something else other then her head and stomach.
The ebonite stallion looked at the male with a wary looked but backed away snorting. He didn’t like strange people. Nudging against Armelia’s arm the horse wanted to go but she knew better, he was making a conversation which meant more waiting for them all, let us cheer them on everyone! Oh, I almost forgot. This is Twister Chaser; he was a TAEA horse before I got him. His wary around other people. The stallion snorted his agreement and shook his handsome head. Hearing another question she raised a brow with questioning him. He really wanted to know that much about her horse? She smiled however and let the horse nip some of the grass near her until she spoke again. Well, since you’re so interested. (a smile was put on her lips.) I’ve had him for two months. He is a Belgian Warmblood, about five years. He has a mild separation anxiety but its going better. He shies away from jumps due to an accident which is why I was training him today.
She gave him a gentle smile and felt that Twister looked for protection behind her. She had a feeling he would be a baby just like Loop was. Taking out a treat she let it on the gate letting the horse decide whether he should take it and near the other human or just look at it. Twister being a eater stretched out his neck and lipped the treat while taking two steps forward until he could finally grab it. She smiled again and patted his neck and spoke again. Yeah well, two weeks with join ups has made him trust me more but I hope he won’t be a baby. What about you? Have any horses? And I don’t think I’ve caught your name? She looked at him curiously wanting to know what his name was. He had after all never stated his name once.

redford was a difficult person to offend. he was known for his use of sarcasm and dry humor, so her little giggle hardly hurt his feelings. if anything, it eased the tension that lay between them from earlier. of course, it wasn't too terribly bad, but armelia's response didn't help an awful lot. red blushed deeply, looking away as a means of hiding his red cheeks. "gee, i didn't know i couldn't ask a couple o' questions," he responded flatly, though there was a joking undertone playing beneath his voice. he shifted his gaze back to armelia, returning the generous smile she offered him. her explanation seemed valid enough for him. he nodded as she spoke, showing that he had quite a bit of interest in the horse. there was no use in being rude; thus, he replied quickly. "belgian warmblood? cool. he's gorgeous," he complimented, practically drooling over the drop dead stud.
huh, an accident? even more intriguing. his mind went over every possible accident that could've happened, including the one that happened to his brother. ever since the fox hunting episode a few weeks ago, his brother had been in the hospital. if only he'd been there that night, if only! maybe he could've kept him from jumping that log... redford rubbed his lips together in thought, furrowing his brows while considering the horse's far from plagued conformation. if anything, he was perfect. a smirk played on his lips when the girl placed a treat on the gate he was leaning on. that was always a good mood booster; playing cat and mouse with a cautious horse. he stayed completely still, eyes following as the horse slowly neared him. his flawlessly trimmed lips nibbled at the treat, pulling it into his mouth and munching obnoxiously on it. twister sure wasn't too afraid of redford to get a treat! chuckling at the clearly intelligent horse, redford caused him to shy away again.
join-ups? interesting. girls seemed to like those a lot, while boys took a more aggressive approach. redford had been raised on a cattle ranch right outside of dallas, so he was all too accustomed to the way cowboys liked to deal with horses. they were fellow workers, they weren't some toy poodle ( the horse equivalent of a show horse ) that required primping and affection. however, since his stay at southern blues, he'd developed an unmistakable attraction to the creatures. they were unlike any other animal; their intelligence and insight were too advanced for words to explain. they were almost...human.
in the middle of his daydream, redford heard the girl's voice again. she had a calm, steady tone that set his mind at ease speaking with her. it had a husky quality to it that attracted him to her. she was different, but the good kind of different that set her apart from all the other girls at the stable. it was almost as if she was deeper than the other riders, but he didn't want to make assumptions prior to knowing her. that got him into a lot of trouble in the past. before he focused too much on her and made it awkward, redford spoke, his own confident voice following hers. "oh, sorry!" he started, shaking his head with a hand raised to his forehead, eyes squinted. that had completely slipped his mind. "the name's redford, redford cash," said red redundantly. then he remembered the first couple of statements she made. he replied, "yeah, i have an oldenburg. i've been looking for a horse from taea as well. are there any right now that are worth a look-see? i don't have anything particular in mind. i kinda wanna train one and then sell it to one of the riders here."

Armelia heard his joking undertone and could nothing but roll her eyes playfully. Oh gee, what a fun person huh? The female looked back to her stallion, he had eased up a couple of inches and was half asleep and covered in sweat. She had to wash him before releasing him in the pasture. But pride was filled in her heart as she saw how he admired her stallion. Yes he is, isn’t he? And no need to blush, people are curious and I don’t blame anyone. She was calm and gentle while stroking the horse with a soft strokes, his head moving with them without opening his dark eyes completely. The stallion was almost solid black if it hadn’t been for the sock on his hind. His coat shone gently with sweat and she made a mental note to either invite the male or just leave him. She didn’t want her horse to get too stiff.
Listening to the rest of his words she remembered her horse for sale and smiled almost in a daze. Her handsome Oldenburg. But she could also remember a Trakehener mare, dappled, Sweet Misery wasn’t it? She looked at the male until speaking with a soft genre to her tone. Well, depending on what you’re looking for. And I want to meet your Oldenburg, I have one myself but I’ve put him up for sale so his not really mine anymore. And I’ve seen through the TAEA headquarters a couple of times now and then. There was a mare there, A Trakehener, dappled. She was about seventeen hands if I’m not mistaken. Sweet Misery is her name but she needs a careful hand. She is quite shy but probably one of the best recovered horses I’ve seen there. She almost sounded like she wanted the mare for herself, but Armelia was having trouble with the two she had. Twister and Silly, both rescue horses, one mild and one a danger and yet, she loved them both. Oh, and nice to meet you Redford. She gave him a soft smile while the horse leaned on her.
