Elle Windover ; Dark Chocolate Sigh. Today was a hot, gross, nonwindy day to Elle. She pulled up into her usual parking spot, and jumped out of her small, old, and decaying BMW. Shutting the door with her heel she walked into the barn. She stopped at the entrance. Where was everyone toady? There were no horses in the cross-ties and none of the usual hustle and bustle of any normal day. The only real nose in the barns was from the horses, one whinny that stood out from the rest made her shrug Calm down Cocoa... she laughed slightly at the geldings loud calls for help At least he's not kicking his stall door anymore, that was scaring Classy half to death!
She continued walking down the barn's walkway, she slightly missed the hustle and bustle of all of the other riders, instructors, and people just boarding their horses. She made it to that boy's horses' stall. The tall mare nickered quietly at her as she passed. Elle stopped and turned to the mare, reaching out to stroke her nose but the mare responded with a bite. Elle quickly moved her hand away, and the mare's teeth made a loud snapping noise Hey! she said, trying not to be so loud First that boy is really hostle, and then I go to pet his horse and she tries to bite my fingers off! Elle rolled her eyes, walking away from the nickering mare It's almost like she's laughing at me!
Elle quickly continued to check on Classy. As usual the big gelding was fast asleep Classy, boy! she said excitedly, snapping her fingers the get his attention. The Chestnut gelding snapped to attention, probably thinking she had food God, you are so lazy! she whispered to him as he stuck his head out into the pathway. She took a minute to stroke his nose and talked softly too him He's loving this! she giggled and Classy nudged her with his nose.
She turned to the stall next to Classy's when another nose bumped her, but not in a friendly way. Cocoa was trying to bite her. Good thing they put that plank so he couldn't stick his head out of his stall! she laughed as the gelding's futile attempts He looks a lot calmer than the other day she giggled as he again attempted to bite her That's not working, you big goof! she giggled. Elle grabbed the dusty purple lead and halter off of his door hook and let herself into his stall. The gelding avoided her at all cost, raising his head reluctantly, and attempting to step on her feet. Eventually she got the halter on the gelding's head, and clipped the lead onto his halter.
He was easier to handle today, he was much calmer. With a little coaxing with a carrot, she got him walking to the small pens.
Cocoa stood still as long as he got carrots, so it was easyer to the lunge line attached to his halter. Elle removed the lead and put it over the fence Alright Cocoa, lets get you all bucked out and we'll try to get a saddle on you she said gleefully, leading him in a circle, and coaxing him to move faster with a longer whip as she waitied for him to start bucking.

I don't wanna be the girl who laughs the loudest Or the girl who never wants to be alone I don't wanna be that call at four o'clock in the morning 'Cause I'm the only one you know in the world that won't be home
Aahh, the sun is blinding I stayed up again Oohh, I am finding That's not the way I want my story to end I'm safe Up high Nothing can touch me But why do I feel this party's over? No pain Inside You're my protection But how do I feel this good sober?
I don't wanna be the girl who has to feel the silence... The quiet scares me 'cause it screams the truth Please don't tell me that we had that conversation When I won't remember, save your breath, 'cause what's the use?Dixie The morning had started off with a slight drizzle fog covering the roads in the early morning. Dixie had a long ride ahead of her to this new place her grandma registered her in. Well she had to say she atleast had her horse to keep her company. She was on the road again and into the area before noon. She had registered herself and including her horse Honey who was outside in her trailer ready to be placed in the stall after Dixie let the mare stretch her legs. With all the registering done Dixie exited the office and got into her red Chevy Silverado which she had to admit was jacked up and coated in mud. She revved the engine which was diesal ran four wheel drive and she was all together very happy with it so far. The horse trailer was large being able to hold four horses and even having a dressing room and a tack room. She pulled around to the stalls making sure she was out of the way of anyone else. Everything the Canyons owned were more than often branded like her truck, saddles, bridles, horses and what not just so nothing would go missing.
Dixie reached into the back of her truck pulling out a bright orange lead rope. This particular lead rope was not branded but it was bright and she grabbed Honeys halter that had her name printed on it so the people here would be able to see her whole name and who she belonged to. Dixie opened the horse trailer looking about and talking to Honey which twitched her harks lazily as if she had been dozing. With that Dixie put on Honeys name brand halter and attached the lead rope about the palomino mare. She lead the horse off the trailer easily making sure nothing bad upset the mare or worse spooked her even though she wasnt easily spooked however this was a new environment which made Dixie on edge and also Honey. From the trailer Dixie began walking Honey in circles calming the mare and also giving her a chance to stretch her legs after the long ride and not as many rest stops as she had hoped for.
Dixie stood t here letting the dry wind rustle her brown waves about her face as if the tendrils of hair were like fingers raking across her face thinking carefully of her show life. Dixie was a barrel racing champion though she had stopped awhile back at fourteen when her parents so unexpectedly died. Though she remembered the rodeos as if it were a show and she was a show girl willing to please and she kept the crowd entertained any way she could. She recalled one time she did barrels bareback difficult and even so almost impossible but Dixie had pulled it off and the crowd called her crazy if they only knew how much hard work she put into her work. When she was eleven she proved with training and discipline you could control a horse so easily which she did with her fathers approval. She couldnt help but remember the nice spot light on her and she so desperately wanted it again and she would have it again with more practice along with blood and sweat Dixie could do whatever she put her mind to especially when it came to horses and her. You wouldnt think this skinny but strong girl who could very well put some guys to shame would be able to do some incredible stuff now she just pretty much did pleasure riding like train though things were soon going to change and the world would soon know Dixie was making a comeback into the show.
Dixie caught something out in the corner of her eye and looked over along with the ever curious Honey who laid her rather larger quarter horse head on Dixies shoulder. She snorted and Dixie laughed petting her nose. Might as well go down there she could make friends maybe she was nice she didnt want to get stuck with a snob and by the looks of the horse he was might green. "Ill saddle you up first girl" Dixie said petting her sides dropping the lead and Honey just standing there showing off her decent ground manners. Dixie came back with her saddle, saddle blanket and a soft brush. She then went to brush the satin like golden pelt of Honey and Dixie smiled always feeling relaxed during this time. She then saddle up Honey the horse ready and rearing to go after Dixie cinched her up. She put on the bite and bridle with ease Honey taking the bit like nothing. From there Dixie saddled up and went off at a lazy walk and headed toward the girl keeping her distance and stopping at the ring to simply watch what was going on inside.
Aahh, the night is calling And it whispers to me softly, "come and play" Aahh, I am falling And if I let myself go, I'm the only one to blame I'm safe Up high Nothing can touch me But why do I feel this party's over? No pain Inside You're like perfection But how do I feel this good sober? I'm comin' down Comin' down Comin' down Spinnin' round Spinnin' round Spinnin' round Looking for myself.. Sober Comin' down Comin' down Comin' down Spinnin' round Spinnin' round Spinnin' round Looking for myself.. Sober When it's good, then it's good, it's so good, 'till it goes bad Till you're trying to find the you that you once had I have heard myself cry Never again Broken down in agony And just trying to find a friend I'm safe Up high Nothing can touch me But why do I feel this party's over? No pain Inside You're like perfection But how do I feel this good sober? I'm safe Up high Nothing can touch me But why do I feel this party's over? No pain Inside You're like perfection But how do I feel this good sober? How do I feel this good sober?

Elle Windover ; Dark Chocolate Cocoa, come on, canter! yelled Elle, moving the whip closer to Dark chocolate's back hooves. This scared the gelding beyond his wits. He leaped and let out a massive buck, then took a run for it Boing, boing! Elle giggled at her leaping horse Good boy! she said excitedly as the dark gelding started to slow down into a speedy trot. Elle noticed something at the barn door. A giant palomino horse, with a girl mounted on them, she was watching Elle get Dark Chocolate used to the lunge line. The girl kicked her horse into a rather lazy walk over to the ring Elle was in. Cocoa stopped and nickered at the Palomino. Elle teased his ankles with the whip Come on. run Cocoa! she said as the dark gelding bolted again, this time bucking like the bronco-est bronco he could.
She noticed the girl stopped a rather safe distance away from the round pen, watching what was going on in the pen. Elle was being spun around by the bucking gelding. Elle warily slowed the stock horse down into a fast paced walk Hello there! she said It's nice not to be the only one here! as Elle waited for the other girls reply, coaxing Cocoa back up to a gallop.

Dixie was cautious about this lunging horse he seemed a bit wild and knowing Dixie she was wild herself. She shook her head and smiled petting Honeys silken neck and getting a nicker from her. Then she heard the other horse and Dixie felt her vibrate as Honey let out a neigh of greeting and perked her harks to watch just like Dixie. Dixie watched slowly brown eyes examining the chocolate gelding curious. She could definitely help this girl. Though she was kind of in a mood to get thrown or perhaps the girl wouldnt let her help. Dixie sighed slightly the warm air so humid Dixie wiped the perspiration from her brown. The from there she dismounted with ease like s he had been riding for many many years which she had since she was practically one and she was more advanced than others coming from a ranching family. She being bit, kicked, ran over, thrown off more times than she could count but most of the time it was her fault for not being patient enough with the horse but if you worked with them everyday. Like Honey for instant Dixie trained and worked her to death and in the end she turned out to be a great horse who loved her and guys only though she tolerated other girls. She grabbed Honey reins and walked the mare into the small ring shutting the gate behind her sighing in relief as Honey was calm. She was normally excited with another horse but since she was in a ring she probably thought she was fixing to get worked. which more than likely she was soon enough perhaps tomorrow though right now she was just here to watch the show and learn more thing by sight rather than by doing things by herself. "Howdy" Dixie said with a long southern draw tipping her white stetson in a how do you do. "May I ask what you are doing" Dixie asked already knowing but wanting to understand t his girl.

Elle Windover ; Dark Chocolate Elle waited for the girl to respond. She pulled Cocoa in slowly, decreasing his speed. 'Howdy' at these words she had to restrain herself from the facepalm 'What exactly are you doin' there?' this question puzzled Elle Wouldn't she know what running out a horse is? Elle giggled a little bit I running him out. I gonna try to get a saddle on him today.. Just for kicks to attempt to break 'em in. she had pulled Cocoa close to her shoulder, and could tell he was calm now. She pet his nose for a second, then replaced the lunge line with his lead, and tying him to the fence of the round pen.
Patting his shoulder she walked out of the pen to get the saddle she had bought for him. Elle stopped at classy's stall, the chestnut gelding nickered at her and stuck his head into the pathway hoping for a snack Sorry Classy, not today! she breathed, walking quickly into the tack room to grab the sleek leather jumper saddle she had bought.
Elle dashed back to the round pen, well she tried with the two saddle pads and a saddle, a good thirt pounds. She placed the saddle pad slowly onto his back, then the bump up pad. So far he seemed pretty calm, she placed the saddle on his back, Cocoa lazily turned his head and snorted at her. She buckled one side of his girth, then the other I'm not gonna make it too tight yet she nodded at this thought. Cocoa looked a little stressed, the Dark gelding padded the ground in protest, but to no avail. Elle replaced his lead with the lunge line and once he noticed he wasn't tied anymore, he too a mad dash for it, dragging Elle in a circle again.

"Ah ok have fun with that" she said thinking it was calming the horse for just lunging him in circles and you had to constantly work with a horse and Dixie felt like the girl was making fun of her silently. Dixie refrained herself from asking anymore questions. Or she would swear she would go to hell for what might come out. Dixie sighed and saddled up on Honey once more coming into the corral the girl might need her help it was always good to break in a horse with someones help or perhaps to spot you. Green horses were dangerous and caused many accidents these days for inexperienced riders and for the horse shying. Dixie propped herself on the horn on her saddle keeping an eye on the horse and girl and keeping a distance away to not disturb. "Ill keep an eye on you " Dixie said with a slight smile she knew how they worked she broke several horses Honey included and she had experience in the area but she chose not to at the moment for a riding accident that said clearly accidents happy to the best of us. "be careful though" Dixie said. She was pretty sure the girl had everything under control but you never knew these days who was experienced and who wasnt.
