That made Aaron laugh, he couldn't help but smile and laugh, glad to see he could still make Aidan smile even though he had recently been quite the screwup. Giving the pup over to her, tangled up class ring necklace and all, Aaron leaned on the fence watching Pirate familiarize himself with his new owner. "I know that babe but Missy needed a peace offering" Aaron teased, reaching over to rub Pirate's black and white ears. "But if you'd prefer some other apology I'm sure I can think of something" Aaron promised, giving her a sly smile and a wink.
He couldn't help but entertain the passing thought that Pirate was one lucky pup. He was all huddled up to Aidan's chest looking almost smug but that was probably just Aaron's imagination. But the pup was, well, close to territory Aaron liked to think was hi but he made himself heel, just glad to see Aidan smiling again and looking more than pleased with an adorable puppy. Aaron of course was willing to make up their little mishap but only if it meant they could start where they left off.
Of course he would have done that but the rumor around the barn was that the police chief was boarding a horse at the stables. Until Aaron knew which boarder he was supposed to be weary of, and knew he wouldn't get himself and Aidan caught by Mr. Myers, they were going to have to find somewhere more private for their....trail riding.
"He's a little bit of a troublemaker, hope he cause too much of a shakeup with your dad's dog. He was awful stiff toward Spyro, just hope this little guy doesn't become a chew toy."
Aaron trusted that Aidan would keep Pirate safe from the jaws of the infamous Skipper but still, he was a bit weary considering Spyro was a bit bigger than the other dog and had still been challenged.

Needless to say, Charlotte didn't seem at all impressed with the puppy. She pinned her ear's at it just a little and turned her face away from him when he tried to put his paw's on her nose. Charlotte wasn't the violent type who was going to try and attack the small, fragile little thing, but that didn't mean she wouldn't give him a nasty mare face and turn away and warn him.
Aidan held the puppy in her arms, listening to Aaron as he spoke, really paying more attention to Pirate in all honesty. She looked up when he mentioned a different kind of a apology and watched him wink, smiling when he did. Well, I'd like to keep the puppy, but I wouldn't mind another form of sorry. She chuckled, looking back down to the puppy, seeing the chain around his neck that he seemed to be playing with. What's this? She untangled the chain from his pays, looking at the charm that was on it. She froze for a moment, then looked up at Aaron and smiled a little. His class ring. He was giving her his class ring? She'd always seen that in movies and all that other good stuff, but no one had ever given her one. She saw it as a sign of him really seeing them as official. Like she was wearing his jacket around school, or there was a big sign written on her forhead that said "AARON'S GIRLFRIEND. STAY BACK."
You sure you want me to have this? She took the chain from around Pirate's neck, examining the ring closer. It was definitely too big for her finger's, so she'd have to wear it on a necklace, which she didn't mind. She chuckled at his comment about Skipper, shaking her head. No, Skipper's a big ball of love. He'd never hurt anything. She shifted her gaze back to him after gawking at the ring in her hand. He's just very protective of my father and I and if another dog that he doesn't know gets too close he just gives them a little warning is all.

Seeing Charlotte turning her head away from the curious pup in Aidan's arms, Aaron chuckled and reached out to rub her soft muzzle. It was a good thing she was good at being patient. The poor girl had to be if she planned to put up with two young twin colts all the time. Poor girl probably never got a break to breathe. Looking back over at Aidan, his smile grew as he watched her untangle the class ring and chain from Pirate's clumsy puppy paws. He knew it was just plain cheesy when a guy gave a girl his class ring but...he was all about tradition. Since he didn't have his varsity jacket and would probably be stoned for having as Midridge jacket in Ravenhook, the ring was the next best thing. Of course it was all too big for her but that was the point of the chain and in his whole life Aaron had never seen a girl actually wearing her boyfriend's ring on her hand.
"That is what some people refer to as a class ring" Aaron teased, leaning on the fence and absentmindedly stroking Charlotte's neck. "Bought it back in Midridge so it's not a Ravenhook ring but there's nobody to shoot me if you ever feel the need to throw it in a lake."
His parents had always pushed the importance of wanting and getting something by working for it. Aaron had worked a summer job the year before they offered buying rings at Aaron's old school so he'd splurged a little and in his mind, invested, in a ring. Something had told him it would come in handy someday.
"Of course I want you to have it, unless you don't want it" Aaron said, knowing some girls were sensitive about the world knowing they were taken. Of course for most guys that was irritating since males liked to...stake their claim so to speak but if she didn't want it then that was her business, he would just have to keep his eyes open for anyone trying to cause trouble for her such as a certain guy named Matt that Aaron had never met. News got around fast in a small town anyway so it was like wearing a billboard when a small town girl took her boyfriend's ring. Still, they didn't know that many people so maybe it wouldn't be a problem?
Glancing over at the barn, Aaron thought he caught a glimpse of Mr. Myers and Beauty but didn't look long enough to be sure. He did remember though, that Aidan had seemed a little snippy when they had been with her dad and it wasn't just because he was pulling the typical "embarrass your daughter" stuff.
"So what got the old man back into the saddle?" Aaron asked, making sure Mr. Myers wouldn't sneak up on him when he referred to him as an "old man."

Charlotte perked her ear's in Aaron's direction when she saw his hand coming towards her. She gladly stretched her neck out towards him, happy for the attention she was recieving. Of course ever since she'd had the twins, she'd been getting oodles of attention from people she didn't know who just wanted to come and look at the cute little new borns, that and Aidan and her dad had been giving her non stop lovin' all the time, but she was always happy for more. Just not from the puppy that Aidan was holding.
Aidan chuckled, holding the chain and the ring in her hands while she held the puppy in the other. He really was a cute little rascal, and finally there'd be someone with enough energy to keep up with Skipper and keep him occupied. Maybe tire him out during the day so he'd sleep through the night for once without running around and causing havic through the household. She smiled, shaking her head, still looking down at the puppy. No, of course I want it, babe. She looked back up at him, her smile widening. But now you've given me a puppy and your class ring.. whatever shall I give you? She smirked a small bit. Again, the girl had needs, and she had horomones and the other day they were toyed with, could you blame the poor thing?
She looked back down at Pirate, shrugging her shoulder's when the question about her dad came up. Well, he always used to hop on Cheerio back when I had him, so he was always still riding, but then I got rid of Cheerio a month or so before I moved here.. so he just missed having the option to ride, so when Layla said she really couldn't handle Moe AND having to train a foal from complete scratch, my dad decided to take him, since he is going to be a western horse. And then I was telling him about the rescue center, and he went just to check it out and saw Beauty. This way he can ride a little still while he's training Pal and he'll pretty much have to train Beauty, too, but my dad's an amazing trainer. People used to pay him thousands to do it before he met my mom. Pal and Beauty and probably going to be the envy of every western rider here. She smiled, looking from Pirate back to Aaron. And I'm not sure what he wants to do with Disney.. I mean I know I told you I was giving him to you, but then my dad changed his mind. He always changes his mind. Says he'll make a good hunt seat horse AND a western pleasure horse.. so whatever. I just hate fighting with him so much.

Aaron rubbed Charlotte's velvety muzzle, looking over at Aidan and listening to her woes. He knew from his own sisters that most girls didn't like fighting with their dads. They preferred giving them doe eyes and kisses to get what they wanted while turning right around to argue with their mothers. Aaron had always preferred his mom's company when he'd been a kid but he had always felt ten times taller when his dad had praised him. Those good times had been few and far in between when Aaron had gotten older. It was like when he turned thirteen it was suddenly ten times easier to find reasons to yell at and hate his dad even if it got him in major trouble. Once his dad had gone as far as to threaten to take away Comanche. Of course Aaron had promptly packed his saddle bags, tacked his horse and ridden Comanche out onto the plains and been gone for three days straight.
That little escapade had almost had him skinned alive and then tossed to the dogs.
Going to Aidan, Aaron took the necklace with his class ring on it, went to stand behind her and looped the chain around her neck, clasping it and pulling her hair up to cover the chain. Still standing behind his girl, Aaron looped his arms around her waist, resting his chin on her shoulder and kissing her neck.
"Don't worry about it Aidan, if I have you then I'm a happy camper. I don't want to start a family war or anything. I think he hates me enough as is."
It was probably pretty amusing to see a six and a half foot tall Aaron with his chin on Aidan's shoulder. She was average height for a girl but the top of her head maybe came to his shoulder when they stood side by side. Right now though, Aaron wasn't particularly worried about that. Even if her dad came up behind him he probably wouldn't let Aidan go. He was a guy after all and he had to make sure it was loud and clear he wasn't going to clear off just because Aidan's dad didn't like him.
"If you want, maybe we can go out for a night on the town this weekend?" Aaron offered. "Don't have to worry about horses or dads for a little while. How's that sound?"

Aidan looked down at her hands when he reached over to take the chain from her. She let it slip through her fingers and watched him go behind her from the corner of her eye. She looked down at the ring that fell at her chest when he'd put it around her neck and smiled at how natural it looked on her. She'd never gotten any of her old boyfriends' class rings, and she liked the way this one looked hanging on the chain around her neck.
She glanced at him through the corner of her eye again when she felt his lips gently tap against the skin on her neck and chuckled. She could only imagine her father's opinion of this boy if he known exactly what it was they did behind closed doors.. Or.. Technically in their case behind absolutely nothing, on the floor of the barn aisle during a rain storm. In a way she kind of figured her dad knew everything Aidan had done with Aaron, only because Aaron and her dad were so alike it was scary, so she was sure her dad could read his mind.. and just knew body language. That might have been why her dad was a little edgy with him. Usually her father was so.. Laid back and gentle. Especially about his daughter's personal business.
She leaned back against him softly and took a deep breath. Yeah, that sounds fun. But in all honesty I'd much rather just sit at home and watch a movie. It sounds a lot more relaxing. She looked over at him. She was a simple girl, very easy to please. She didn't need guys to spend money on her, she just wanted to spend time with them.
