Layla Daye After finishing all of her chores at the barn, Layla went straight home, hopped in the shower, dried her hair and straightened it, gotten dressed and did the whole 'make up' thing. Layla never wore too much make up, she thought that was trampy. Just a light layer of eye shadow, some mascara and a tiny bit of cover up on her face to lighten her complextion and she called it good. She thought blush and lip gloss over did it, and eye liner made her look skanky and dark.
Once her mom saw that she was getting ready, she smiled and said 'Who's the boy?' Layla smiled, never being able to keep anything from her mother. She dipped her brush back into the tan colored cover up and brushed it across her face. There is no boy, mom. I'm just going to the movies with some friends. Her mother simply smiled, knowing that there was something Layla wasn't telling her, and just walked away. She'd find out sooner or later.
Layla slipped her shoes on over her socks and did one last check in the mirror. She thought she looked fine, and hopefully so would Matt. Only a different kind of fine.

It was a busy day but Matt managed to get two more hours sleep before he had to start getting ready, a shower, shave all the simple little bits that made you look good. His outfit was simple, polished black combat boots, black jeans with a black t-shirt tucked in, a dark grey shirt with red and black ritualistic patterns thrown on over the top and left un buttoned. The dogs were fed and water put down for them.
Making sure everything was set Matt left the house and walked toward his truck, climbing into the large black 4X4 Matt started the engine and buckled his seatbelt. Taking one last glance at the house adress given Matt leaves his area, and soon finds himself pulling up outside Layla's house. Stopping the truck and leaving the engine running Matt hops out of the truck and walks up to the door of the hosue.
Knocking three times and stepping back to wait for Layla to come to the door hopefully she was ready, he was on time (For a change) waiting paitently Matt glances over his shoulder at the black truck, possibly at it's cleanest. It would looks bad to arrive at someones house expecting to pick them up with a dirty truck.

Hearing the knock at the door, Layla quickly rushed to her dresser, grabbing the bottle of Vanilla Jasmine perfume off of of it and spraying it on two spots on her neck and on her left wrist, rubbing it against her right and setting the bottle down. She rushed down the hall way in an attempt to beat her mother to the door but stopped in her tracks when she heard her mother yell 'I got it!' Crap. Layla listened to her mother cross the kitchen and go into the downstairs entry way from the upstairs hallway.
Her mother opened the door and smiled at the boy who stood on her porch. Well, hello. You must be here for Layla. I'm her mother, Mary Alice. But you can just call me Mary. It's easier. She smiled, offering her hand for him to shake.
Layla crossed the rest of the hallway and walked down the stairs and into the entry way. Alright, mom. The movie starts at 8, so I shouldn't be home too late, but I'll call you if I'm going to be. She gave her mom a small hug, grabbing a light hoodie off of the coat rack and walking outside onto the porch. She waved to her mom again before she shut the door and looked at Matt. Hey. She smiled.

He offered the woman a polite smile and as he brought his hand up Layla was hugging her mother and shortly after she was closing the door and looking up at him, his smile grew slightly as he looked down to the girl offering her his hand he smiled.
"you look great"
He said looking to his truck they had plenty of time to get there so he was in no rush to be leaving but assumed it would better if they got away from Layla's parents.
"Shall we be going then?"
He said still with a small smile spread across his lips as he looked at the girl, she really was pretty but Matt was going to tread carefully tonight, taking a small step away from the house and toward his truck Matt waited for Layla to join him before running off and going.

Layla looked down at herself when she heard his compliment and smiled. Why thank you. She shifted her gaze back to him, looking him over. You clean up pretty well yourself, cowboy. Her smile widened as she took a step forward to join him on their walk to the truck. He was so cute, but was it really proper to start dating her cousin's ex... thing? I mean Aidan and Matt had never really dated, they'd just like each other for a while, and now she had Aaron and Layla didn't exactly have any boy toys laying around. And Matt seemed.. well.. perfect. They had a lot in common, they weren't awkward, they seemed to click really well... But what was his opinion about it?
She walked around to the passenger side. So you know where the cinema is, right?

Opening the door for Layla, Matt stood back and waited for her to climb into the truck. Watching her and listening as she spoke, first complimenting him then asking him what could be a silly question. Chuckling lightly at the question he gave his small response.
"Well I may need someone to tell me where to turn, after all girls always blame the guys for getting lost, eh."
He joked, he knew his way and so wouldn't have any trouble ariving on time unless they happened to get lost, which for now was highly unlikley. Waiting at the door ready to close it before walking around to get into the truck and drive to the cinema.
"So what film we gonna see?"
Okay they hadn't even left yet and he was already starting conversation, something he couldn't do so easily with certain people...

Layla watched him open the door for her, really hoping her mom had chosen this of one of her many times to spy and stand at the window, starring at them from afar. Oh, her mother would be proud. She could only see her mom sitting on the stairs in the entry way waiting for her to come home and demand to know everything about this boy that layla had so nicely picked out. And for once, Layla wouldn't mind telling her.
She climbed up into the truck, crossing her legs considering she was wearing a skirt and it wasn't lady like to sit there legs all spread and what not. She folded her hair behind her ear and looked down at him, chuckling at his sarcastic comment about getting lost. Well, I believe we're going to go A Haunting In Conneticut. At least i think so. That's what most of my friends wanted to see, anyhow. You like scary movies, right? She smiled, watching him from the seat she was sitting in. It was un-lady like to say, but she already wanted to kiss this boy.

Hm something that yet again he could so easily comment on, closing the door carefully behing Layla and walking around the front of the truck soon climbing in and sitting in the drivers seat. Matt turned the truck away from the house and started on the journy toward the cinema.
"Well I don't know, I might need someone to hold my hand, if it's scary."
he chuckled lightly as the truck slowly drove through the well lit streets on Ravenhook. Well it would be fun either way, scary movies were good and so he wouldn't complain, this girl was amazing, and unlike Aidan she was easy to talk to... So far nothing was awkward, and if the girl liked him like he did her maybe they would get on better than he had first expected. Glancing down to Layla as slowly they neared the cinema he chuckled.
"So I didn't get lost, do I get a medal now"

Aidan had never told Layla much about Matt, so Layla had no idea if they had gotten along well at all. Or if had been at all awkward or not.. Or if they hated each other or what. Only that they sort of had a 'thing' and she spent the night at his house once, and that nothing happened. That's all she knew. But she knew oodles about Aaron. Maybe Aidan and Aaron just belonged together, and Aidan didn't belong with Matt, because somebody else did. Somebody like.. Layla.
Layla looked over at him in the driver's seat, laughing at his comment about scary movies. Well, hopefully someone will be willing to give up their hand to you tonigt, then. She continued chuckling for just another second or so, pushing her hair behind her ear and looked forward, watching the streets as they went by the windows of his truck.
When they arrived, she looked over at him and smiled. Well, I don't exactly have a medal to give you. So, you'll have to choose something else. Perhaps a gumball? She smirked, only joking.

He laughed, cutting off the engine of the truck and hopping out closing the door behind him. Walking around to the passanger side Matt pulls the door open and offers his hand up to Layla he glanced over his shoulder and wondered what time her friends were due to arrive.
"When are your friends due m'lady?"
Matt was in a pretty good mood and now he was no longer tired like he had been before. Tonight hopefully would be a good night, for both of them. Waiting for Layla he soon turned his head back to face her waiting to see what she would say about her friends. They had plenty of time to waste so the early arriving would be strange. Well he could get tickets and they could find seats, at least they would get decent seats as a pose to bad ones where people will be standing infront of you.

She watched as he crossed the front of the truck and opened the door for her. Oh, her mother would simply adore this boy. She smiled, slowly taking his hand and hopping out of the truck. She only wished that her mother could be spying at this very moment. Even though it was her mother.. Layla couldn't wait to get home and gab about Matt. Layla's mom was like her best friend, which couldn't be said about a lot of girl and mom relationships. Actually, they should be here. When I talked to Cameron earlier she said that her and Alyssa were on their way to the theatre, so if we go in there they should already be there. She nodded and smiled a small bit, taking a step towards the cinema doors across the parking lot. You comin' cowboy?

Okay he hoped they werent expected to have arrived sooner, that wouldn't look good. Following Layla with a smile at her given comment Matt for now at least had nothing to say. Shirt ruffled slightly by the slight breze Matt looked up to the sky the sky was always a pretty sight, especialy when you now had little to nothing to say.
"So.... How many of your friends are going to be here? Just so I know how mush of a stranger i'm gonna be."
He said, meeting new people always was a strange occosaion for Matt but if they were anything like Layla conversation before the film wouldn't be too hard then after it would depend how long they would hang aorund or if Layla would want to be or have to be home quick. Who knew, well Matt didn't so it didn't matter not yet.

Layla walked beside him towards the entrance of the cinema, tucking her hair behind her ear once again. She took a deep breath, thinking of all the people who were going to be here. As far as I know, there's Cameron, Alyssa, Derek, Mikey, Anthony, Britt, Becca and Ciara.. But there could be more. Like people could have brought dates or something that I'm unaware of. She shrugged and looked over at him as they walked, smiling a small bit. Why.. scared or something? Need somebody to hold your hand through the whole experience? She chuckled, only kidding and teasing with him just a tad.
It was a rather nice night out. About 70 degrees, with a light breeze that softly blew her hair and tussled his shirt. The stars were out and the night was cloudless. It was actually a goregous night.

He watched the path ahead only once glancing down at Layla and that was when she started handing out a load of names, oh he would be a big stranger amongst this group. Oh well it may well be fun who knew what would come of a random guy turning up with a friend.
"Maybe..."
He chuckled lightly at her given coment now breaking his stare and galncing back down to see Layla wondering what it was she was looking at or if she had seen one of her friends.
"So how many of your freinds know i'm coming? None?"
He asked his tone was still calm and happy but he was just curious as to see if Layla had told anyone she was bringing him with her or did she just leave it at the arrangement for meeting here with whoever you chose to bring.

Layla smiled, looking over at him and then back ahead of her. Whatever you say. She giggled, pushing her hair back behind her ear once again, seeings as the breeze had blown it in front of it. The majority of them, unless they told everybody else. I mean I didn't want you to be a total surprise. She smiled again in his direction, opening the door of the cinema and walking it, holding it open for him so he could grab it and walk in behind her.
She waited for him and then walked in the direction of the ticket booth, hoping none of her friends walked in just yet. She didn't want to get swarmed just yet, she'd wait until they actually got into the theatre for anything like that. Oer at least she wanted to.
