Aaron blinked at Aiden, staring in surprise. She'd sold Finn? Of course, he'd gotten back to the stable, what? A week ago? Something like that and had paid almost no attention to a horse that wasn't Comanche, Heart or Charlotte. That included Finnegan since t he pair had a mutual dislike for one another. The thoroughbred was thoroughly stuck up if nothing else, too prissy for Aaron to have ever bothered with him had he not been the horse Aaron had met Aiden with. Before Aaron could voice anything, Aiden was off in search of her apparently newly acquired mare, leaving Aaron with Spyro, Missy, Charlotte, Pal and Corona for company.
Smiling at her bubbliness, Aaron turned and leaned on Charlotte's stall door. Spyro was sitting next to him, Missy looking after Aiden curiously. Aaron occupied himself by watching Charlotte moving around in her stall with the two colts, Pal and Corona exploring their new but relatively small world. He really did want to ask to buy Pal but he didn't want to complicate things for Aiden. Her cousin had dibs first, always family and Aaron could fully understand that. Oh well. At least he could baby both of Comanche's sons when no one was looking.
Five minutes later the clop of horse hooves on concrete made Aaron look away from the threesome in the stall. Looking around he found a mare that was a lot like Heart. She was mostly bay with small splashes of white on her sides, much like Heart had but she was much more...tame than his wild rodeo rider. Her belly looked swelled from what Aaron assumed was pregnancy.
Aaron chuckled and approached the tied mare. "Exactly how new is she?" Aaron asked, raising an eyebrow as he ran a hand along the mare's neck, fingers barely brushing the well defined muscle. It seemed Aiden had been dabbling in the horse trade recently, at least while Aaron had been away and up to his neck with chores from his uncle and helping his sisters adjust to Ravenhook. "She looks good, maybe not as buff as Comanche or wild like Heart but you sure know how to pick your horses." Aaron slipped an arm around Aiden's waist, admiring the mare's good breeding. He had an eye for stock horses, what could he say? "Glad to know you have good taste" Aaron teased, leaning so his cheek rested on the top of her head.
